Brandon begins this thought provoking talk by emphasizing the importance of thinking critically about journal impact factors, sample sizes, P values, limitations and context when interpreting scientific findings. He goes on to cut through the extensive literature and breaks down athlete readiness into 4 main categories that any strength coach can implement into their athlete tracking and/or monitoring. During the latter portion of this lecture, Brandon discusses the pros and cons of readiness metrics that have grown in popularity over the last number of years. The metrics discussed incude HRV, jump testing, acute to chronic load ratio and more.
